Youth

The Sharpshooters is a youth clay shooting program sponsored by the Minute Man Sportsman Club located in Billerica, MA. The MMSC is dedicated to supporting our youth Sharpshooters program to teach, develop, encourage, and ultimately provide youth athletes with a life sport.

Our goals are to teach safe gun handling skills, develop a team of youth athletes that can participate in a variety of shooting sports, and most of all to have fun!

Youth athletes will be taught how to handle firearms in a safe and responsible manner. We will introduce and train in multiple clay shooting disciplines including: trap, Skeet, Sporting Clays, 5 stand, Olympic Trap, and Olympic Skeet.

We believe that it is beneficial for our athletes to learn multiple disciplines and we are very fortunate to be one of the only clubs in the New England area to offer all of these disciplines.

We plan to teach the athletes while enjoying the shooting sports and having fun. Our Minuteman Sharpshooter athletes will participate in the following programs: SCTP, AIM, and USA Shooting.

Our team will practice on a weekly basis (Sunday mornings 11am, Wednesday evenings 5:30pm.) We have a well developed training program that includes individual training plans for our athletes and use of an indoor DryFire system.

There are also a number of competitions that the Minute Man Sharpshooters are encouraged to participate in. Please refer to the team calendar to see the practice and competition dates.
